These almost constructivist photomontages show hands of all kinds of people using their smartphones. Their displays don’t show any apps – only more hands using smartphones. Each photomontage combines five different images of hands with their devices. Each pair of hands plays both roles from Michelangelo’s ‘Creation of Adam’ at the Sistine Chapel: God and Adam, whose fingers touch each other. These devices are the new saints to which we cling, through which we keep contact, and who guide us on our ways – they are the amulets of our time.
