The exhibition Motion to Space explores the impact of new technologies on contemporary visual art. How do new media such as video or computers alter our perception of space, be it the physical space of the universe or the mysteries of the microcosm? And how do they expand the possibilities for its representation? In the exhibition, twelve female artists give diverse expression to their visual imaginations. Living along the transalpine axis of Milan – Ticino – Zurich, their exchange of fantastical visual worlds promises a stimulating dialogue that transcends not only geographical boundaries but also offers an experience of an imaginary visual world, one made possible only by the visual axis of time in open space through the use of new visual media.

An exhibition organised as part of the Switzerland–Italy cultural exchange programme to mark EXPO 2015 in Milan
