Since 1984, the Sculpture Museum in Marl has organised the prestigious Marl Video Art Prize. The first national prize for this media art provides an overview of the development of German video art over the preceding two years. The Marl Video Art Prize has been awarded every two years since 1984 by the City of Marl – in collaboration with the Adolf Grimme Institute, the culture magazine aspekte (ZDF) and the Academy of Media Arts KHM Cologne. The Sculpture Museum Marl is exhibiting the prize winners and the nominated entries for the 11th Marl Video Art Prize from July to September 2004. The publication ‘German Video Art 2002–2004’ is being released to accompany the series of exhibitions. In 2005, the exhibition will travel on to Munich, Hanover and Lüdenscheid.
