This video refers to the ceiling painting in the so called ‚Porcelain Chamber‘ at Caputh Palace. The painting shows Borussia, an allegorical personification of Brandenburg-Prussia / Europe, on a cloud. The dark-skinned woman behind her symbolises colonial relations and the „other“, the peoples in the colonies. This is repeated in the depiction of two children who are playing with trade goods. The video collage combines scenes from the movie AVATAR by James Cameron: The researcher Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) and her own Avatar (as native Na‘vi) are shown together – and sometimes seem to communicate.
