For the first time ever, the one of a kind media art archive of the imai Foundation has been made open to the public on a permanent basis in the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf.
The visitors can dive into and rummage in the history of video art spanning from the 1970s to this day. Leaflets covering over a thousand videos stretch across the walls of the video lounge and make their exploration an interactive and physical experience. The videos can be viewed on the tablets provided in no or any particular order. Comfortable seating furniture makes prolonged viewing sessions enjoyable. The tablet app provides additional, specific search options. A large projection screen shows a constantly changing curated selection of video art.
No fewer than 15 works by Myriam Thyes are on display here.
